The main reason for you to go to said groups is to gain potential allies for the battle/ the time during the battle/ the time shortly after or to wipe out potential long term opposition. Also, there is no real way of forging an alliance between yourself and for instance the BoS in terms of rule over New Vegas( which is probably the most disappointing part of the Yes-Man Questline).
